A white house with a dark gray roof and multiple chimneys sits in a lush green landscape under a bright blue sky with wispy clouds.

Our story

Machair Croft has been shaped by over two centuries of family life on Iona.

Today, it’s cared for by Jamie—the eighth generation on the croft—continuing a long-standing connection to the land while building something sustainable for the future.

What began as a traditional working croft has evolved into a place that welcomes guests from around the world, while remaining rooted in its history and landscape.
